# Understand logins, ad accounts, and account scope

> Learn how a workspace, provider login, advertising account, property, and advertiser group affect the data Nerve uses for each request.

A provider login can give access to several advertising accounts or properties. Connecting that login is the first step; selecting the intended data scope is the next.

| Term | Meaning in your work |
| - | - |
| **Nerve workspace** | The working area with a team, connections, workflows, and billing. |
| **Platform connection or login** | The identity authorized to access a provider such as Google or Meta. |
| **Ad account, advertiser, customer, or property** | The particular business dataset you want to analyze. The term depends on the platform. |
| **Advertiser group** | A collection of supported accounts for one business, used by Analytics and available for chat scoping. |

## Example: one agency login, two clients

An agency Google login can access both **Example Retail** and **Example Travel**. Connecting that login does not tell the assistant which client your next question concerns. Choose Example Retail's customer account, then ask for that account's campaigns and dates.

## Choose scope for your experience

* In **Nerve AI**, select accounts or an advertiser group and apply the selection before sending the message.
* In **Claude or ChatGPT**, check the connected accounts and identify the intended account in your prompt. Naming an account is an instruction; do not treat the prompt as an access-control setting.
* In a **workflow**, inspect every configured source and selected account before running it.
* In **Analytics**, select the intended advertiser group.

## Confirm the scope in the answer
