# Choose or change the accounts in a chat

> Select accounts or an advertiser group for Nerve AI, apply the choice, and confirm the scope before continuing a conversation or starting a new one.

Choose at least one account before sending a Nerve AI message. The picker separates account selection from the platform login you connected earlier.

## Select individual accounts

1. Open **AI Agents > Agents** and click the account picker near the message box.
2. Use the platform tabs and **Search all accounts** to find the intended accounts.
3. Tick the accounts you want. Check the selected count. Use the platform's select-all or clear control only when you intend that scope.
4. Choose **Apply**. Use **Cancel** to discard the picker changes.
5. Ask the assistant to confirm the selected account before analyzing it.

The initial **All accounts** label does not replace making a selection. If the message area says **Select ad accounts to start**, choose an account and apply it.

## Use an advertiser group

Choose **Select advertiser group** when the task concerns all accounts in a configured group. Review the group membership first, especially for a client-wide report. Use **Clear group scope** when returning to individual account selection, if that control is shown.

## Change scope during a conversation

Update the selection, then make the scope change explicit in your next message:

```text theme={null}
Use only the accounts selected now for this next analysis.
Restate the platform and account names before comparing results.
Do not include the previous client's data or make any changes.
```

Check remembered selections in new and reopened chats. Do not rely on the conversation title as proof of the current accounts.

If a platform or account is missing, confirm its connection and whether it is available in this chat surface. See [integration availability](https://docs.nerve.mattemena.com/connections/supported-integrations.md). Use an external assistant when the task needs a supported connector that is unavailable in the chat picker.
