An account audit should tell you what is happening, what evidence supports the findings, and what to investigate next. Begin with one account and a defined business goal.

Prepare the audit

  1. Connect the platform and confirm the intended account.
  2. Choose a reporting period long enough for your question, plus a comparison period.
  3. Define the business result, such as purchases or qualified leads, and its target.
  4. Use the Prompt library’s account-analysis prompt, a Claude Code audit skill, or a custom request.

Assess the result

Look for a finding tied to data, an explanation, and a next step. For example, a high CPA observation needs the spend, conversion count, period, and target behind it. A tracking concern should explain whether the assistant observed a configuration issue or only a mismatch in reported metrics. Ask the assistant to identify incomplete requests and unavailable checks. Do not accept an unsupported conclusion about tracking, creative quality, or audience overlap simply because it appears in an audit template.

Turn findings into work

Select a small number of investigations or proposals. Keep budget, targeting, and status changes separate from the audit. Use Review budget and optimization changes for a current-versus-proposed table before approving implementation. To repeat an audit, use a read-only workflow with explicit accounts and output requirements, then review its steps before scheduling it.
